Competitions

The ARTS THREAD portfolio system allows us to offer bespoke competitions that can instantly extract each competition database, allowing simplified judging by time-pressed experts. Competition entries can be open to view or private – it’s the client’s choice.

Competitions can be used as a purely promotional driver – it’s the taking part that’s important or they can be targeted to a specific readership if it’s all about quality not quantity. ARTS THREAD has worked with Who’s Next Paris for the past three editions of its show in January/June 2012 and January 2013. This July 2013 will be the fourth edition in succession.

For Milan Design Week 2013 ARTS THREAD worked with Designersblock over a seriously tight deadline to select 10 directional graduate designers to show at The Magazzini – a cultural hub in the trendy Tortona district, sponsored by Heineken and also featuring PechaKucha, Cool Hunting, Tuttobene, digital design pioneer Joshua Davis and Vectorfunk artist Matt W Moore.

ARTS THREAD worked with Paris trade show Equip”Hotel, part of the Reed Exhibitions group, through French trade promotors Promosalons, for its most recent November 2012 edition.

ARTS THREAD worked over 2011/2012 with London Creative agency Duke&Earl on a project for a multinational digital company – a giant digital installation to be placed in London’s most well-known shopping mall.

ARTS THREAD worked with French label Hermès to arrange for 15 talented textile and fashion students from the UK to visit the Hermès design and production headquarters in Lyon in January 2012.

ARTS THREAD prepared and promoted a series of three workshops held during the first weekend of the London Design Festival in September 2012 at the Sackler Centre, the educational wing of the V&A Museum.

ARTS THREAD provided Indigo, the creative textile and surface design show, part of Première Vision, with image-based reports for Brussels and Paris for September 2012 and February 2013.

ARTS THREAD is working with All Walks Beyond the Catwalk as the platform for the new competition Diversity Now! in association with i-D magazine that deadlined end February 2013.

ARTS THREAD worked in early 2012 with the Mokspace Gallery, London to select 15 directional graduate makers and artists for a show of new art & design talent from China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, held April 24 to May 06 2012 and entitled East Meets West: Art & Design Now!
