ENDORSEMENTS

Just a few of ARTS THREAD’s Endorsements….

“This is a very exciting time for Graduate Fashion Week and ARTS THREAD. We have been very enthusiastic for some time to develop our own website to serve the needs of the fashion industry and provide a global platform to improve recruitment levels amongst innovative graduates. The Creation of ARTS THREAD was exactly what we had in mind and we are delighted to be working with the site to help connect industry, universities/ schools and students worldwide, exclusively within the field of design”
Terry Mansfield CBE, Chairman Graduate Fashion Week

“What really impresses is the ethos behind the site. The whole ARTS THREAD environment feels like a real creative hub, with an exchange of ideas and transfer of knowledge possible at all levels, from GCSE through to Post-Graduate. There's no other space on the web which facilitates this in such a complete and "real" way.”
Olaf Parker, the fashion consultant for BBC Blast

"ARTS THREAD is a great resource, and a unique opportunity for people in my position, who are time poor to access the best in up and coming talent in one easy to use website. The creative industry is super competitive, and the graduates who will succeed, will be the ones who make full use of resources like ARTS THREAD. I graduated from college with the chance for senior creatives to see my work in only a few publications or competitions. ARTS THREAD provides a constant drip feed to the Industry and this can only be a good thing. I am happy to endorse this service and look forward to maybe even hiring some great talent from it in the future. Good Luck"
Jonathan Schofield, Visual Director, Stella McCartney

“In my eyes Arts Thread.com is an exciting and dynamic platform for global creative graduates to promote, showcase and succeed in their chosen subject. Arts Thread is offering a unique global tool for graduates, colleges and prospective future employees. For me, Arts Thread could be the essential one stop site to access creative graduates from a truly global perspective.”
Neil Elliot, Graphics Manager, Global Apparel, Timberland

“Both Cheryl and I wholeheartedly believe in ARTS THREAD's aspirations and the team behind the project. We are in a privileged position to view this new vital platform three ways - as lecturers, as entrepreneurs and also from an employer’s perspective. We believe the creative sectors are going to become increasingly important to the UK and International economies and ARTS THREAD is an important catalyst in bridging a particularly precarious gap between graduation and employment.”
Craig Spellar & Cheryl Langley, Designers & Co-owners, Harriet's Muse

“I wish ARTS THREAD had existed when I graduated; it would have given me more insight into what the possibilities are in the fashion industry and the reality of what one can achieve or aim for in the first big job. ARTS THREAD is a great tool for the new talent in fashion; to be guided to the ultimate, perfect position in this massive industry.”
Frederik Willems, Head of Design, Gieves & Hawkes

“I am a great believer in keeping a brand refreshed by employing talent fresh from the best Universities in the country. ARTS THREAD will give me, and many like me, time to scan through portfolios and target new potential without taking time out of a busy schedule. If something like ARTS THREAD had existed when I was a graduate, I strongly believe this could have at least doubled the chances of the graduates of my generation. I look forward to using ARTS THREAD to find the "hidden" talent of the future.”
Dean Gomilsek-Cole, Design Director, Global Apparel, Timberland

“I was first told about Arts Thread at University in the build up to Graduate Fashion Week, as that was when it was to be launched. I was not sure exactly how it worked but I was told it was a new website to help graduates and the industry, as basically an online portfolio. I knew there were fashion agencies that book graduates and it seemed to be a similar concept but it was open to everyone and as it is online a greater chance of being seen. Even though I had my own blog online, which is hard to get out to the right people, it seemed like a great chance for some exposure so I put my work on the site before GFW.

“At GFW week Arts Thread had a stand where you could meet the team who would answer any questions and show how the site worked. After meeting the various directors and learning exactly what it was about, I knew this was an opportunity that I am glad I didn't miss. It is geared towards helping graduates get their work out but also a great directory for industry people to find the person or people they are looking for, which actually lead me to getting a job just 6 weeks after graduating.

“The site was easy to use and allows graduates to put up a variety of work to show off exactly what you want to be seen and employers can find you by looking through portfolios from specific categories or just from a recommendation like in my case. It has created a missing link between graduates and industry that will create more opportunities for a lot more people.”
Maxwell Holmes, Northumbria University Fashion Design graduate 2009
