ARTS THREAD Session: The importance of an online portfolio as part of your creative career – Get help with your online portfolio as part of your creative career with a talk, followed by a Q&A and portfolio surgery with industry experts.
Equip’Innov Competition
Deadline for the ARTS THREAD competition with Equip’Hotel is Monday October 15 2012.
Prize: your work will be shown and promoted at Equip’Hôtel & you will receive a paid-for trip to Paris to attend the fair.
ARTS THREAD has teamed up with Paris-based Equip’Hotel, the key global trade event in the hospitality and catering sector, for a competition aimed at graduate product and interior designers. There are 5 categories: bar, dining-room, lighting, bathroom and terrace. All entries should be uploaded onto ARTS THREAD before October 15 2012 and clearly marked with the category chosen. Indigo Paris
ARTS THREAD went to this year’s Indigo Fashion in Paris recently to talk to both new exhibitors and also studios who have been at the show many times, showcasing their unique and creative collections that vary from embroideries and knits to vintage and wovens.
As in previous editions, Indigo Paris offers 24 cutting edge textile graduates an opportunity to showcase their work under the umbrella of Texprint. ARTS THREAD speaks to a selection of the Texprint designers to find out what Indigo has meant for them. Link to Indigo posts
Diversity NOW!
ARTS THREAD has partnered with All Walks as the platform for this exciting new competition!
To enter the Diversity NOW! competition please register and upload your entry on ARTS THREAD.
Diversity NOW! is the latest campaign from All Walks Beyond the Catwalk, the award winning campaign, founded by Caryn Franklin, Debra Bourne and Erin O’ Connor to use fashion for positive change. Vienna Design Week

The Winston Churchill Design Competition 2013
ARTS THREAD has partnered with the Churchill Centre and Pentland Group plc as the platform for this new competition.
To enter the Winston Churchill Design Competition please register and upload your entry on ARTS THREAD.
Prize: First prize £1000, Second Prize £750, Third Prize £500. All three winners will be considered for work experience at Pentland headquarters in London. Link to The Winston Churchill Design Competition 2013
Budapest Design Week
Held in the Hungarian capital between September 28 and October 07 2012, Budapest Design Week offers over a hundred programs highlighting local and international designers.
This year’s programme focuses on the slow design movement and an exclusive collection of 80 design pieces that reflect the slow concept is being exhibited in the Budapest Design Terminal. Pieces on show include a chandelier made from plants, a chair constructed from old, rusty pipes and examples of new urban farming solutions. Link to Budapest Design Week
