I'm a digital illustrator, aged 22, recently graduated from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design and commended for the YCN Student Awards 2012. My work is mainly digital. I apply a large amount of my artistic knowledge and concentration to making each design a work of art rather than your standard vector shape image. I pride myself on exceptional attention to detail, however this does not slow down the process; I am able to provide interesting and quirky illustration whilst working to tight deadlines. My weapon of choice is Adobe Photoshop, in which I have an advanced knowledge. I am able to use Adobe suite and various moving image/animation software. I enjoy interpreting text visually. I find editorial work interesting and also love to work on children's books. I find that briefs with particular targeted audiences interest me most as I can get into the mindset of the audience and create eye catching work for that particular market. I love to keep up to date with all areas of art and design and am particularly interested in animation and illustration. I also adore vintage/retro design; everything from Victorian typography to Gil Elvgren's pin up girls of the 1950's. I also have an interest in unusual, surreal and macabre design such as the work by the Quay Brothers and Jake and Dinos Chapman. AWARDS: Commended for my entry to the YCN Student Awards 2012 Read Less...
