The Bear and the Salmon
A children's book written and illustrated by myself. Based on the idea of a fable, I produced a series of linocut illustrations, alongside a charming rhyming story that depicts the moral of "good things come to those who wait." I like to work with block colour and enjoy the hand created and unique feel the illustrations display. I also handprinted and bound the book myself to add to the uniqueness of the artwork.
Album Design
A linocut, embossded, handcreated album cover for the band Noah & the Whale, hand created by myself. I used the embossing technique as I like to add dimension and texture to my work. I cleverly used the way you open the album to complete my illustration- as you pull the record out it completes the whale. Designed as part of a promotional campaign.
Secret London
A handdrawn and screen printed poster to answer the Secret London competition brief. I researched the huntarian museum as a hidden aspect of London. I drew observational drawings of the things displayed in the museum and hand screen printed the poster using a number of different layers. I wanted the overlay of colours to add dimension to my work and to create the illusion of transparacy.
Little White Lies
A piece of editorial work for the magazine cover of Little White Lies, based on the story of The BLack Swan. I created this by using collograph and etching techniques, which add great texture and detail to the piece. It was piece of work based on portraiture.
