My work is inspired by wild plants, natural woodlands and my interest in the environment.

I find the endless variety of twisted branches and flowering weeds always captures my imagination and takes it somewhere beautiful.

I have chosen to make my jewellery with ethically sourced materials, such as refined recycled sterling silver and reclaimed hardwoods.

I believe that something as precious as jewellery should have a beautiful history from inspiration through creation to presentation.

I love how wild plants cling onto the edges of our towns and cities, forming little patches of vibrant greenery with delicate flowers, all the while battling the elements for their very survival.

I want to emulate that toughness and delicacy in my work by contrasting Sterling Silver and hardwoods in unexpected ways.

I have depicted these beautiful wild plants growing through silver and wood frames, suggesting they are trying to escape their surroundings by breaking out of the box, something I feel many women can identify with.

Jewellery is perceived as innocent and beautiful, but it can sometimes have dirty origins.

By using only ethically sourced materials from within the UK I am trying to raise awareness as to what people consider precious.

I believe our natural environment is our most precious resource and I have done everything I can to ensure my jewellery does not harm that environment.

I have replaced the traditional use of gemstones with hand carved hardwood gems to try to reinforce that connection with nature and to show that precious jewellery does not have to be just precious metals.
