My practice is structured around generating a series of design based rules which are specific to each project. These form a reciprocal relationship with my selected influences. Through making my own textiles I am able to produce unique collections whilst having full control over pattern and colour.  My graduate collection titled ‘Midnight Skater’ is a visual representation of each of the six chosen star signs taken from their original textual form. This transformation has resulted in a distinctive outfit for each star sign. My fascination with the energetic movement involved in skateboarding bridges the gap between the real and the ethereal, whilst also encapsulating the camaraderie of a group of individuals sharing a common activity. All the textiles used were hand dyed, several with unusual pigments such as glow in the dark ink. 

Since graduating I have continued my practise and am working on a new collection; starting with a new range of printed textiles designs I aim to again produce a capsule menswear collection. The featured print for ‘In Search of the Emerald’ won the Puma Creative Factory Print Competition October 2012
