My work is underpinned by a very detailed and illustrative 'super realist' drawing style, influenced by Fornasetti and the Victorian microscopist, Robert Hooke.
A great deal of inspiration in my work is derived from science and I always seek to retain in my silk screen prints an element of fantasy, intrigue and complexity.
Inspired by the concepts of micro versus macro and the idea of pattern found in natural phenomena, my project combines human microscopy with space and astronomy.
It is the connection between the sciences and the arts that fascinates me and the notion of what lies beneath a surface.
