Previously trained as an architect, I have always envisioned buildings as machines. Architectural elements are designed to form spaces that manipulate activities and movement.

While jewellery cannot divorce itself from the human body, the most intimate space lies in between the body and the object. I approach jewellery design as constructing spaces on the topographic contours.

My first exploration of space starts from a flat surface, lines can be cut and pulled apart to express the expanded space.

The second exploration is the interchangeability and interaction between the object and the wearer. Inspired by  patterns in Chinese architecture, and the mechanism of the sliding tile puzzle, I begin creating objects which involve the wearer's action, the tactility draws a concentrated focus into the object that invokes an invisible bubble of space.

I aspire my work to be playful and fun. Combining innovative technologies with traditional hand craft skills, I am always in search of new materials and new ways of working.

The process of making is a long journey towards an unknown destination, where I believe will have sunshine and wonderful things.
