Having completed a year in industry, I was to approach final year with a fresh outlook. I completed placements at Margo Selby, Tom Cody Design and Boden. Placement year gave me amazing prospects and an insight into the textiles field, giving me new skills, confidence, and new opportunities. During my time at Tom Cody I produced several designs, which sold, I also attended Premiere Vision, New Direction. Whilst at Margo Selby, I designed and produced a series of woven samples, which have been published in ‘Contemporary Weaving Patterns’ (by Margo Selby). Now a final year Woven Textile student, currently working on ‘Looking Overhead’ a final collection inspired by pylons, telegraph poles and train overheads. The project focuses on a black and white colour palette and uses an array of yarns to create a unique combination of textures.  Throughout the course I have been able to develop my skills base not just within my woven technical knowledge but also using; Photoshop, Illustrator, Scottweave, laser cutting, screen printing and devore. This year I was awarded The Worshipful Company of Weavers scholarship.
