Dance enlightens every aspect of my work from beginning to end. Recently, on discovering Latin American dance, I learnt that it stirs me and when I see the dancers together I am mesmerised by them and the energy and passion within the performance.

Latin American dance is a performance in every sense, the colours that are worn are as important as the dance and music. For me the colours that I use in my pieces are integral to the shapes that are formed. The process of creating a piece of glass is a performance.

From the dance to the final creation a journey takes place where the beginning is as beautiful as the end. The language between the dancers is one of love, care and support which cannot be pulled apart. They are two as much as they are one, they are a team together.

My current dance pieces require a team of people to make them and so in some ways this has similarities to a dance as the pieces move from one blower to another. It is not until after the cold working process that the full impact of the pieces can be seen and enjoyed.
