Ashleigh Morris is a mixed media jewellery artist who creates small scale jewellery and larger scale catwalk pieces.

By using non traditional materials found in the natural environment which are discarded or recycled, such as twigs, sticks, branches, fruit vines and plastic bags, she gives them a new life or meaning by worshipping what’s been left behind.

Inspired by the natural form of her chosen materials, her aim is to make them beautiful and playful using bright and contrasting colours, utilising the simplest of techniques such as wrapping, binding, knotting, hand and machine stitching with different varieties of threads and beads.

By leaving glimpses of the natural origins exposed she creates an interesting surface which is transformed and enhanced when using a backdrop such as wire or a larger branch.
