Using an illustrative style and some imagination, Becky Hodgson is able to create animals who fashion clothes, enjoy cups of tea and play musical instruments. Her work embodies a jolly and humourous style that enables the developement of anthropomorphic animals, combined with a passion for attentive detail within drawing and mark making.

Inspired by the clean bold style of scandanavian print, Becky utilises the simplicity of strong geometric shapes and block colours to make a striking contrast with her drawing style. Her use of colour is understated, leaving the animals as the focal points of her designs.

Becky uses numerous techniques and print processes within her work such as screen printing, Photoshop manipulation, foiling and digital printing. Her work has a wide versatility- aimed for the application of many products including interiors and fashion, in addition to individual artist prints, greetings cards and wrapping papers.

Becky Hodgson's range of amusing animals an geometrics will be showcased at her end of year degree show on the 18-23rd of June at Leeds college of Art.
