Rebecca graduated from the BA(Hons) Surface Pattern Design at Staffordshire University in 2011 and is currently studying on the MA Ceramic Design programme. As well as furthering her ceramic studies, she also works at Royal Stafford part time as a junior designer.

Rebecca is a prolific illustrator, bringing to her work a distinct sense of abstraction, originality and humour. Her undergraduate work was explored predominantly through textile design and home furnishing products; her later work was further developed for ceramic surfaces, resulting in the ‘Zoo’ collection for Flux.

Rebecca's current work is inspired by classical architecture, provocatively but sympathetically combining personal imagery which leaves the viewer with an element of mystery and surprise.

The work is produced from combining hand drawn and found imagery, often manipulated using CAD before being hand printed on ceramic transfers. The grey/black with gold/platnium means the Rebecca can play with 'layering up' of motifs, often creating subtle patterns within a design which can only be seen with a closer look at the work.
