Referencing thoughts on domestic space and both the objects and relationships contained within, I make small sculptural items and wearable pieces.

The architecture and interiors of homes inspire the enamel finishes of the pieces and the structures they decorate. Looking at the minor details of everyday objects, the beauty of their linear qualities reveal themselves through personal drawings of their simplified forms.

Enamelling holds comparison with baking, the surface conjures thoughts of old blue and white kitchenware neglected for their practicalities but revered for their nostalgic beauty.

Using techniques inspired by textiles gives the metal a softness. Screen-printing and enamelling share a repetitious nature that I find therapeutic and continue visually in the work through the use of minimal colour and line.

Making is a personal sense of release against the everyday but also a celebration of it. Seeing the subtleties of my motivations within the finished pieces seems to enhance the resolution of their source.
