I have developed a range of knitted and crocheted glass vessels.  

Applying these traditional fiber skills to an innovative process of recycled glass products I hope to have pushed the technical boundaries of glass and demonstrated my ability to bring traditional iconography to the contemporary craft market.

Each piece has been individually knitted or crocheted by hand. They are then heated and manipulated through several firings at very high temperatures, eventually emerging as a formed glass vessel. Each piece is both original and individual, emerging as a beautiful lace glass sculpture in which each stitch is discernable and the openwork design casts striking shadows.

I am inspired by the role of women in textiles, especially my Grandmother who taught me these fading skills and bequeathed the patterns & tools used. I hope through my work, to celebrate the history, memories and skills of women in textiles.
