“My work reflects my personality; playful and imaginative but often with a thoughtful and sober underpinning.

I would describe the concepts behind my work as a juxtaposition of humour and thought, which can often come across as warped. I like to create ‘things’ which communicate psychological interests of mine. This identifies with the audience, and often gets an emotional response.

The form is mostly inspired by the natural environment, such as plant life, and anatomy, which I draw in sketchbooks and collect.

I have used many materials throughout my artistic life in order to find ones which suit me best. At the moment wax carving to be cast in metals has become a favourite of mine, perfect for bringing to life my figurative designs.

I like how intimate I can get with the material when forming it through such close contact; this type of process is like playing with a stress ball, it relaxes me, and I forget about my troubles.”
