Personal Profile
I have recently finished my degree in Fashion and Textiles Enterprise at University of Portsmouth. I would like to pursue a career in becoming a garment technologist as I feel I have the skills required in pattern cutting and garment construction from my degree. I am enthusiastic about my work and learn new processes quickly and effectively. I have in depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and various Microsoft programmes.

Education
University of Portsmouth – BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles Enterprise
Within my degree I have become a more confident and experienced pattern cutter and seamstress. I got to work with a wide range of materials and techniques. I like to keep up to date with new trends that are forming and I like to know what cultural changes are happening. We had many trips on the course, one that included going to New York where we visited Print Source. I achieved a 2.1 grade.

Southdown’s College – BTEC Diploma Foundation Studies in Art and Design
I achieved a Merit on this one year course. Here I experimented with lots of processes within all areas of art and found I enjoyed fashion and textiles the most.

Southdown’s College – A Level
Textiles grade C, Film Studies grade D and Media grade D.

Priory School
Ten GCSE’s gained from C – D.

Work Experience
Knight & Lees (John Lewis) Fashion Accessories Department - 1/08/2004 till present
Responsibilities  Include - Good people skills, working in a team, working with money, visual merchandising, wide knowledge of second hand jewellery, good customer service skills, organisational skills.
Qualifications I have gained since working for John Lewis are - I am a fully trained first aider and a NVQ in selling level two.
Elaine Hooley Design (Work Experience) - 28/07/08 till 29/08/08
Responsibilities included - Taking the sample orders and getting them to the right meetings with the buyers, Photographing the samples, Taking phone calls, designing jersey tops for John Rocha on Photoshop.
Henry Court School (work experience) March till June 2009
I had to teach a year nine class how to make a basic dress block and then teach them relevant skills in how to make a simple dress.
Responsibilities included - Talking to the students, teaching the students basic pattern cutting skills, teaching them sewing skills.
Beautiful Me (Work Experience) July 2009
The owner took the measurements of the customer and trusted me to make a bridesmaid dress using a commercial pattern which I had to make adjustments to at home.
J.W Anderson (Work Experience) 11.06.2010
I went to help for one day on an order that needed to be made on embroidered sweatshirts for men. I learnt about the manufacturing process for a small company.
Enamore (Work Experience) 24.06.2010 - 30.06.2010
Responsibilities included - Cutting out lingerie and eye masks, making eye masks, sewing on bows to bras, helping on the website, such uploading photos, descriptions and prices.
