Nation in Crisis involves blending the traditions and artforms of the top nationalities living in Britain today.

These nationalities have brought their culture to the UK to form an amazing and diverse multicultural society. But this multicultural society is now part of today's 'Bad News Britain'.

'Bad News Britain' has formed the basis for my subject matter, focusing on current affairs from 2011/12. This includes the London riots, student protests,the nation's debt and the great British housing scandal.          

Using this subject matter, some of the artforms brought to us by various countries are combined to develop interesting textures and patterns.

There are three collections: 'Unrest', 'Debt' and 'Below-par'.

The basic colour palette is a range of greys, representing the current state of Britain. But throughout the collection there are splashes of colour to remind us where these unique artforms have originated and to show how  well they merge together - both in design and society.
