I always like to question my work and the things surrounding me, and I feel this allows me to be a committed and an innovative maker.
I am an enthusiastic and independent craftsman motivated by science and fashion.
I am inspired by scientific philosophy, physics and biology; these subjects help me to question our knowledge of the world and universe we inhabit. I feel from this I develop an original style of work that relates directly to the body and the human conscious and promotes interaction and debate.
I use mainly metal and plastics and create in a geometric and conceptual way.
I am an effective decision maker because I learn well from experience and involvement within teams. In the future I hope to develop my skills further so that I can explore new areas of design.
I also wish to gain experience in a new and diverse environment to challenge my current ideas and concepts, and allow me to develop into a broad minded and instinctive designer.

Work Experience
RawStudio, London (July 2009 - September 2009)
I spent 2 months working alongside Nick Rawcliffe, helping to develop projects and designs and gaining invaluable personal experience. My main tool whilst at RawStudio was Adobe Illustrator where I was given the opportunity to develop designs for a variety of projects from candle holders to bicycle lugs. I was offered a very different experience to what I am used to at university where computer skills are more vital and deadlines are extremely realistic. From this I have developed better time management skills and a more attuned knowledge of 2D CAD software.
Sackville School, East Grindstead (June 2009 - July 2009)
I spent 3 weeks taking part in the ‘Student Associate Scheme’ run through University of Brighton to show students what a teaching environment is like. The aim was for me to gain a knowledge of what it is like to teach high school students and to teach high school students about design courses at university. I took part in a series of lessons, making notes on the structure and teaching of classes. I then helped and advised students throughout lessons, finally giving students a lesson on health and safety in their workshops.
ThyssenKrupp AG Cannock Plant (June 2003) - CAD Department
I had 2 weeks of experience working within the CAD department of ThyssenKrupp AG. I was shown the many different programs they worked with to edit and redesign faulty car body parts and components. I was given the opportunity to use CAD to create and design my own work whilst there. I got a first hand experience of how a design team works in industry.
