I am fascinated by the practice of collecting & conserving objects; and the notion that through this an object transcends an often mundane or perfunctory role, to acquire an evolving significance over time as a result of our interpretation of it.

By responding to textiles found in the admittance ledgers of the Foundling Hospital, this work explores issues of anonymity & transformation.

Intrigued by its peculiarities and the alchemic like processes I have used vitreous enamel to create delicate enamel textiles; often incorporating the characteristics of unexpected outcomes as a feature within my pieces.

Key to my work is the desire to create objects that draw the view in to look more closely; and by creating something visually attractive with unexpected methods, engage the viewer with a hidden history or story.
