I like to draw inspiration from the natural environment and architecture and begin each project with drawings and colour in my sketchbook, which are transformed into weave structures for hand woven cloth.  

With this in mind, my first project Stone Throws was inspired by pebbles and stones found on the Welsh Coast.   My second project Weave Rocks, a collection of scarves, was inspired by minerals and architecture from the Natural History Museum.

I use a variety of yarns: silk, wool, cotton, and linen to create cloth or accessories that provide a tactile, resilient quality.  

The yarns selected for each project are hand dyed and aim to reflect the inspiration and colours found in my sketchbook.

Qualification:
BA (Hons) Textiles for Fashion and Interiors

Additional qualifications include:
City and Guilds Fashion, Hand and Machine Embroidery, Certificate of Higher Education in Stitched Textiles, and I hold FAETC City & Guilds 7306 Teaching Practice.
