I have investigated seaside ports, dockyards, beaches, villages and towns around the coast of North Wales along with historic photographs which were taken in the same areas.

As primary research I visited lifeboat stations around the coast where I found historic photographs of towns and rescues. These photographs provide some valuable narrative imagery for drawings.

The locations which I have chosen to explore are closely linked to the surroundings which I grew up in.

Within my drawings I aim to consider line, scale, pattern, layering and the application of detailed effects to represent movement.

Movement in particular is something which is very important within my theme and in relation to my final outcome.

Contemporary fashion designers who I have researched and admire the work of are Basso and Brooke and Matthew Williamson. These designers work extremely well with colour and produce beautifully structured design placements.

I also admire the sheer fabrics used by Chloe and Valentino in recent collections.
