Emma graduated from the Royal College of Art in July 2011 with an MA in Textiles, having previously achieved a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design from Birmingham City University.

During her time at the Royal College, Emma won a number of awards including three prestigious prizes for drawing. Following being selected for Texprint, she was awarded the Texprint Pattern Prize 2011, and will be exhibiting her work in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Paris in Autumn 2011.

Emma's design inspiration comes from patterns in nature and their innate irregularity. Through her exquisite, fine pencil drawings she hopes to capture some of this unpredictable beauty. Emma draws on a long heritage of English design from William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement to traditional botanical drawings. She twists these references into modern and original designs, driven by synergies; modern and classical, natural and man-made.

Emma hopes to blur the boundaries between fine art and design, creating unique and distinctive artwork, printed textiles and accessory pieces.
