I am creative and fashion led designer with a great knowledge of trend and quality product. I am looking to further my career in the design of premium, women’s casualwear. I have a feminine handwriting, which I have developed during 2 ½ years of commercial design experience at Next and most recently House of Fraser.

As an Assistant Womenswear Designer at House of Fraser I have worked on Linea, Linea Weekend and Dickens and Jones across multi-products.  I held full design responsibility for the brands because of a vacant Designer and during this time designed the majority of the AW12 range. As well as designing best selling garments, which have formed the benchmark for the Essentials and Collection, I am also very instrumental in the range planning and selection process. My personal and communication skills have ensured I have strong working relationships with suppliers, buyers, merchandisers and directors, following my designs through from sketches to fits to sign off. 

During my time at House of Fraser I have achieved many successes, one of which was initiating and designing a best selling ‘Woven in Britain’ range for Dickins and Jones, drawing on the heritage of the brand. This required me to work closely with Abraham Moon to develop and design a new British wool range, complete with exciting new branding.  I have also received press coverage and awards for my designs.

I have experience in trend research, creating colour palettes, selecting and designing prints and sourcing new and exciting fabrics. I am also able to design intuitively, producing detailed and technical specifications with an emphasis on quality. Motivation and organisation have always been key strengths of mine and my time at House of Fraser has helped developed these.

I feel that I can offer a strong combination of commercial essentials, combined with more fashion forward pieces to create a cohesive product range.
