Should I stop doing sports, so I can lead the same life as my adolescent peers, or shall I close myself off from the outside world in the hope that I reach the top? This is what many talented young athletes ask themselves. Influenced by a media discussion on this subject, I did a visual investigation of the dilemma sports or life, where I wondered how you would see the world as an athlete.

The massive bee mortality is a major threat to our food supply. Without bees no vegetables, no fruits, no nuts, no chocolate and no coffee. Eighty percent of all vegetation on earth is dependent on the pollination by bees. Already in 1900, Albert Einstein warned mankind for this problem: “Wenn die Bienen verschwinden, hat der Mensch nur noch vier Jahre zu leben; keine Bienen mehr, keine Pflanzen, keine Tiere, keine Menschen mehr” "When all bees disappear, there will only be 4 years left for mankind to survive; no bees, no plants, no animals, no people anymore” Not only Einstein warns us for this problem, it is nowadays also a hot topic in the media.

A summary of the work and experience during my internship at Autobahn, Utrecht and Silo Design, Den Haag. The book creates a visual separation between reader and viewer.

Byng Place, from public space to transit area, reflects pedestrian’s behaviour in public spaces. Behaviour of a transit community, led by time and destination. The time to pass a space as quickly as possible, by traversing a route that you are unaware of. The story of transiting is shown through five aspects: the line of walking, the rhythm of walking, focus on the route, focus on the destination and closing down awareness. This project contains an outcome of 5 different works, a visual summary and a report.

A textual research into the difference of impact and message of news media, focused on the difference between internet, television, newspapers and radio. It has resulted in an essay and a typographic newspaper.

Sit in with me at Ta för sig, my visualisation of today’s dining in the Netherlands. On the menu are ready-to-eat, take-away meals, snacks, convenient packaging for consumption on the go, next to the IKEA Starter Kit. Nowadays we do not prepare food ourselves anymore; we buy it. The Food Industry has effectively responded to this trend by devel-oping all kinds of convenience food and snacks. As a starting point I chose the IKEA Starter Kit, which has been especially designed to allow everybody the possibility to have anew and complete set of table and kitchen utensils. This project has resulted in a research summary and experimental china.
