Mulberry
Exploring what is British to me I was inspired by girl guiding and the activities and experiences of guide camp across different generations in England.
Spring Summer 2013
My graduate collection is inspired by traces of escape which came from my Poppa’s diary entry of when my pet budgie escaped, and also the memories I have from a visit to Alcatraz prison. The main focal point of my designs is the marks and traces left behind on denim garments by the unknown wearer. I have combined pleated rainmacs printed with landscapes of Alcatraz Island with delicate silks and foiled, bleached and recycled denim. My aim was to execute the use of denim in a sophisticated and feminine way, mixing contrasting fabrics for a modern twist.
