Medical aids have not always been mass produced and made from cheap, disposable materials as they are now. In fact early prosthetics were made from materials such as leather, wood & metal.

Time was taken on each piece and craftsmanship was central to their making.

I am exploring ways of subverting and re-interpreting various iconic symbols of disability.

To do so, I work with traditional craft processes to make medical aids that have a connection to the patient, whilst at the same time raising their value and maintaining their function.
