Creating contrast I split my final brief into two themes consisting of the ‘Night Before’ and ‘The Morning After’. I wanted an exaggerated difference between the two achieving this with the colouring and materials used in each theme.

The ‘Night Before’ range consists of inspiration from blurred photography and night clubbing scenes that I then used to apply an intensity of colour found in light and lasers from these pictures. This collection will be suited for bars, clubs and outspoken interiors.

As my main source of imagery for ‘The Morning After’, I have used architecture as a basis of research for the geometric shapes I have used. I then applied subtle colouring with highlights of bronze to fit well in residential interiors being less intense.

Combining matt and gloss media I worked into Plywood, routing and laser cutting designs to add depth and pattern in-laying and layering live edge Perspex over this to create an interesting quality of two materials put together.

The live edge Perspex I have used has been supplied by Bay Plastics who kindly sponsored me with the material to experiment with in my final designs.

Both wood and Perspex panels have been routed to add a 3D quality creating movement and tone to a flat surface.

Although unrestricted, my application is aimed for flooring design and wall paneling whereby the wood panels are flexible to fit and the Perspex panels are set to compliment the intensity of colouring.
