Translucency fascinates me. I work primarily with thin porcelain and light – sometimes also with glass or other translucent materials, sometimes in combination with contrasting black clay.

I live in Norway and am strongly influenced by my northern environment, where light and darkness play a significant role. Through my work I try to capture something of the essence of the natural environment around me and trigger a sense of recognition or resonance with those who experience my work.

I like to incorporate several layers of meaning – a beautiful sculptural object in daylight is transformed when illuminated from within; a closer look will often reveal a story or unexpected details that went unoticed at first glance; yet further meaning may be discovered in the shadows cast upon nearby walls or ceiling.

The very fact that my work incorporates light, thus providing illumination, makes it functional. In this way, art and function are combined. Suitable environments range from small home interiors to larger public spaces.

All electrical fittings are CE-certified.
