I am a surface pattern designer; I graduated from the Cleveland College of Art and Design with First Class Honours. My lifelong passion for colour and design was inspired by my highly creative family where art, design and textiles were all around me. 

I have always drawn and responded to colour.  I love mid twentieth century design, old films and TV, especially from the 1950s and 1960s which have long been strongly influential in my design aesthetic.

I carefully observe plant forms which I translate into drawings, particularly fluid mark making and these often develop into bold abstract forms.  My ability to use interesting colours with a strong drawing style results in the creation of patterns which reflect my love of mid twentieth century Scandinavian textiles.

I use advanced screen printing techniques with dyes, pigments and other textural printing methods.  I create layers of colour and line which can range from prints with simplicity and impact to sophisticated designs.  All of my designs, whether abstract or figurative, have a distinct style which is very much my own.
