Detailed, delicate and meticulous—the tiny patterns, often overlooked, adorning each element of a wider picture. These are the patterns which inspire me. I extract and record them through loose but intricate drawing, then translate my illustrations into wearable adornments for the body.

The idea of using jewellery materials as drawing media constantly drives my work. I transfer my illustrations from paper to metal through punching, etching, piercing and inlaying contrasting colours. Most recently I have explored innovative uses of seashells in jewellery.

My material exploration runs in parallel to developments in visual inspiration. From spoked wheels and microscopic plant cells my interest has turned to the sexy and provocative visual subject of lingerie, lace and the female form. Delicate patterns cover even the curves of the human body, which we gild with lace, and decorate with jewellery embellished with delicate patterns.
