The inspiration for my work is based around my collection of ‘found fabrics’, these are fabrics i have been collecting throughout my life as I have been interested in textiles from an early age.

The fabrics I have used are mainly ‘ditsy’ floral designs. I have manipulated these fabrics with a ‘cut through’ technique using a simple floral shape developed from an enlarged floral print.

I have plaited my ‘found fabrics’ to create the impression of trailing vines and stems. I stitched into reclaimed wooden furniture using traditional embroidery techniques.

I have up-cycled discarded furniture, creating the effect of the garden 'taking over' furniture you would typically find within the home. These are bespoke, one off pieces, each flower and plait individually made by hand.
