I am passionate about concealing a statement in my work, whether that is questioning what jewellery is or conveying a piece of information or both. I would say my main theme is to make my pieces dominate areas of the body by their heaviness but retain elegance to the wearer and itself. Creating pieces to be desired through colour, concept and abstraction.

Fascinated by natural gemstones I re-create facets to gain similar reflections and to make my jewellery have a tougher, angular appearance. The relevance of presenting my ideas with a rock-like facet texture has been informed by the growth of natural elements through rocks and how people over the years have seen them as canvasses. I wish my pieces to incorporate the idea of growth of another idea whether it be carved into again or has something added to the form such as a stone.

 With this in mind I delve into research that interests me at the moment whether it be a documentary, exhibition or somewhere I've travelled.  Once the spark has been lit in my mind I take pleasure researching in depth about whatever project I am working on.
