My interests lie in making pieces of original, handmade jewellery. My most recent work ‘Line Drawing Series’ takes the flatness of 2D line drawings into a 3D form through a piece of jewellery.

The pieces appear like drawn lines on the body and reflect the delicacy of the line drawing.

My inspiration comes from the work of fine artists and abstract paintings. Other qualities that are reflected in my work are movement, balance and tension.

I work with a variety of aesthetic qualities which are gained through the use of techniques and materials.

I use techniques such as forging, hammering and reticulation to manipulate the material.

I work with silver and gold which I combine with materials such as coloured felt to add colour into the pieces.

Precious materials are a valued part of my jewellery and combined with non-precious materials they question the value of each individual material.

Career Profile

I have recently completed a degree at Sheffield Hallam University where I studied Jewellery and Metalwork. I am very excited about starting my career in the jewellery industry. I am looking for a career to enhance my current skills and to develop new skills in the jewellery and business world. I am an open minded, motivated individual and find it easy to co-operate with others. I enjoy all aspects of designing and making jewellery and this is reflected through my pieces.

Interests

In my spare time I enjoy good food and good wine as well as trips to the theatre and museums. I am also a keen runner and I take part in 10K races where I raise money for charities.

I enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures. I have a love for fashion which inspires my interest in designing jewellery.
