Nottingham Trent University
Decorative Arts BA (Hons)

Studying Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University was an exciting opportunity for me as I am a very creative and hands on person.

I really enjoyed working with glass in the second year but towards the end of my third year, I decided to experiment with screen printing as I think it was the best technique to apply my drawings.

I like to draw modern architecture and simplify them as much as I can so they are quite graphic and very 2D. These drawings led to the development of the drawings coming to life as I like to create 3D pieces of work.

My colours come from modern contemporary interiors; two different shades of grey, a slate blue and one dominant bright colour. I have created other pieces in purple, blue, and pink.

My glass pieces are also screen printed with enamel powders and then slumped in the kiln. I added holes into my steel moulds to create dimples in the glass which I find very unique.
