Marc Jacobs - Fabrication/Production Internship

During my five month placement at Marc Jacobs, I worked on the production of S/S 2009 and Fall 2010. My role at Marc Jacobs focused mainly on asisting the fabric buyers with day-to-day activities, from communicating with factories regarding production of garments to creating fabric sample cards to be sent to the mill for development.

I also assisted with the development of fabrics from enlarging prints to dying fabrication and trims for production and show piece garments.

The internship was a very practical and experimental work placement. I learnt a lot about the treatment of fabrication which I feel has helped me to develop an understanding for surface textile and the importance of detail.

Nathan Jenden - Design Internship

My role at Nathan Jenden was very hands on, I developed some hand embellishments that went into the production of the Fall 2009 show. I frequently assisted wiith fittings leading up to the show and production garments.
