I am a textile designer specialising in creating one off, hand printed and embellished textiles for fashion. 

I am interested in how fabric can store information and record time through how it wears, disintegrates and changes over time due to how it is touched, worn and handled; essentially recording human interaction.

Rather than work wth pre-existing stains and flaws in fabric, I create fabrics for fashion that look like they are falling apart, but in a beautiful way.

Taking inspiration from patterns and textures found in nature such as moss, lichen and bark, I achieve this by building up and taking away layers and textures through techniques including devoré, embroidery, embellishment and fabric manipulation.

I am very technique led in the way that I work, relishing in the labour intensive nature of much of what I create.

As well as playing to my strengths as a designer, the time I dedicate to a piece adds another dimension to the concept of my work: the effort or time I put into each sample or garment I work with acts as a way of recording my interaction with the fabric, and the time that passes as I develop.
