40 years after graduating in Physics I have just completed my B.A. in Textile and Surface Design. I have always had the need to be creative and have satisfied this artistic sensibility by knitting, stitching embellishing, etc and also through my job as a teacher. My design degree however has allowed me to rediscover my love of observational drawing and this has underpinned all of my design work.

I have completed modules in interors, gift and fashion, exbiting work at Indigo Paris twice, but by my Minor Project I decided to specialise in interiors. I produced 2 collections based on the Japanese aesthetic that included both placement and repeat designs produced in Photoshop and digitally printed. These were mainly small scale patterns for cushions and kitchen textiles.

For my Final Major Project I decided to continue with interiors but to work to a much larger scale. All the collections were based on the concept of systems evolving be it the Evolution of the Species or that of the Universe after the Big Bang. This involved a lot of visual research that took me to many interesting places and gave me a wealth of drawings to work from.
