My work translates fantasy into visual spectacles. Illusion, cutting techniques and printed surface are used to build 3D illustrations. This is a World of Yesterday's Tomorrows.

My final collection is predominantly a spectacle. Inspired by theories of fantasy, I have ensured the idea of illusion is maintained in every aspect of my final body of work.

The piece is a ‘concept model’ rather than a product, a non-functional sculpture that communicates an idea. I have endeavoured to create a piece of work that has dramatic impact and is above all impressive to look at.

The use of a mirror in the display not only reveals a completely different aesthetic to the piece but also serves as an explanation of the making and construction process where the burnt lasercut effect and composition of structural tiers become visible.

Studying at Nottingham Trent University has been extremely inspiring. I have enjoyed being based in a building which hosts a variety of Art and Design courses, as it has pushed me to experiment with a vast range of techniques and creative practices including woodwork, screen-printing, embroidery and lasercutting.
