Nicola graduated in 2011 with a first class BA (hons) in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery. Since then she has shown her work at several galleries around the country, secured online stockists and participated on the Goldsmiths' Company Getting Started Course.

Nicola's first collection was initially inspired by a letter that she found in an antique shop written during World War II. This letter had been kept for many years and possibly re read many times. This made her think about the way we communicate with friends and loved ones today. Text messages and emails can never convey the same feelings as a handwritten letter. You can tell so much more from a handwritten letter, you get a real sense of the person that wrote it. Text messages can't be held in the hand or treasured and are usually deleted quite quickly.

Her second collection is inspired by the illegible handwriting on old postcards that were signed with love and kisses. The jumble of letters in the collection spell out love, with love and 'xxx'.

Specialising in CAD alongside hand making techniques she hopes to evoke a feeling of times gone by whilst still producing contemporary designs.
