I am a Printed Textile Designer and Printmaker whose inspiration is taken from the landscape, buildings and animals from around my home in Scotland.

My initial inspiration for choosing this theme for my final project developed from looking at childhood drawings of imaginary and known landscapes.

My work reflects my love of nature and animals. I enjoy working with Lino printing as well as developing ideas and designs through drawing and painting. I enjoy the process of lino printing and the excitement of printing a lino for the first time. 

My choice of fabrics is influenced by research into Interior Designers such as Timorous Beasties as well as the natural colours and texture of the Linens and wool. I also like the work of Marrimekko, Missoni and Thomaspaul.

As well as these textile designers I am inspired by landscape painters such as Eric Ravilious, Edward Burra, Samuel Palmer, David Hockney and William Turner; and printmakers such as Gwen Raverat who I find very inspiring and Sarah Kirby and Albrecht Durer. I also like the wood engravings of Thomas Bewick.
