‘Secret keepers’ my work is inspired by keeping and sharing secrets.

The irregular cubes are formed by scoring and folding sheet metal. The ‘listening/whispering’ devices are made by the process of lost wax casting.

The pieces depict the way people keep and share secrets. The inspiration came after thinking about the way in which most people have secrets, or things other people don’t know about them, anyone can share a secret with the object and it will be safely contained inside.

The boxes came from the idea of when we store something away safely, we often put it in a box.

The shapes for the ‘listening/whispering’ devices were developed from objects used for listening or creating sound such as parts of the inner ear and gramophones, horns etc.
