Poonam Dhuffer is colour!! Everything she creates is driven by her obsession for colour and her attention to intricate detail. 

This collection of luxurious Jacquard and Dobby hand woven fabrics for interior contexts, is a myriad of pattern, colour and texture. The work is complemented by exquisite trimmings and a seductive range of book works. She communicates her ideas through illustration, incorporating stitch and evocative proportional colour windings.

Indian influences play a significant role in the design inspiration of this work, but instead of traditional and predictable approach, Poonam's inspirations of cultural references collide to provide a new international and contemporary aesthetic.

Cultural references derive from an iconic Bollywood film entitled 'Mugal-e-Azam' where the cinematography captures an authentic mix of Indian, Mogul and Moroccan interior spaces. This combines with personal, out of focus imagery of jewellery has created the visual language for this highly colourful collection.

Poonam's colour knowledge has been nurtured by valuable work placements with Monsoon Accessorize and Margo Selby.
