I am a surface pattern designer; I studied Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design.

I love the use of colour; pattern, texture and all things pretty, although still enjoy getting my hands dirty!

I am a new emerging screen print designer, combining my love of the hand drawn with traditional print processes.

I construct designs exploring the relationship between pattern and colour starting with detailed drawings, which are repeated into different compositions; sometimes leaving sections of the fabric for other design to show through or highlight my innovative dye techniques.

These handcrafted techniques are slowly being lost through digital printing, proving my work is unique and different, by screen-printing discharge on hand dyed fabrics such as silk.

I am one of few screen printers who also dyes the fabric, starting straight from scratch, giving a real personal feel.

This way of working makes my practice niche in today’s popular market, and above all enables me to stand out from the rest.

My designs are usually for fashion fabric although my work is versatile and can be for interiors such as cushions and tablecloths.

I am fascinated with colour and am highly influenced by the richness of Indian fabrics. I love traditional Indian pattern especially paisley, which runs throughout my work.

I am competent in Photoshop and Illustrator but have a passion for hand screen-printing.
