I sourced inspiration from the Liverpool docklands and the archaic atmosphere; it has being steeped in maritime history. I utilised the natural weathering to source colour and texture, responding through knit and manipulating them post-production. These textile fabrics are ultimately intended for statement interior knits and gallery pieces.

I was looking at the effects of light and textiles during this project and sourcing my inspiration from Lancaster castle and its ethereal quality. I explored the subject through drawing and knit, using reflective yarns and a finer gauge on the machine.

As part of the Pavement series I have generated a two strand series of work; one being an artistic interpretation of the patterns and qualities found on the streets and the second being a distilled set of wearables. I trapped two pieces between perspex to juxtapose the tactile quality of the fabric and to convey the interior connotation and the wearables are beneath as alternatives.

This project has developed into two strands of work; bespoke interior pieces and a knitted accessories collection. I visited Blackpool to photograph the faded grandeur and capture the essence of a faded summer and have responded to these images through my materials.
