For my degree I have specialised in woven textiles. I use my sketchbook to develop my colour pallete and inspiration ideas, before moving to the loom; experimenting with yarns, structures, colour and finishing techniques. Initial sampling informs my ideas when I am designing a final collection. Colour is something that I find highly inspirational and use effectively throughout my work with dyed yarns.

Within my final major projects I have been particularly interested in incorporating textures with colour to create a vibrant tactile quality to the woven fabric. Through combining cotton and silk with a shrinking woollen yarn, I am able to transform the surface of the cloth, both in a controlled and organic manner.
