I throw and slip cast simple porcelain vessels creating what I see as a blank canvas for the application of pattern and mark making.

My drawings of natural forms inspire a mixture of gestural and more controlled lines. I use a subtle colour range of slips, under glazes, ceramic transfers and glaze that are also influenced by the natural world and my drawings.

The wares I create are versatile in function whilst also decorative and can be displayed in groups or as individual pieces. Each is completely different and unique but complements the others it is placed with.

Making each piece of ceramic individual and unique is also an essential part of how I view my work.

I have made each one manipulating the clay and creating my designs with my own hands. Therefore, I think that holding and feeling a piece of ceramic is essential for any person viewing it.
