Rosie Venables ?
I am a recent ceramics graduate from Bath Spa University. My work tends to be brightly coloured, exuberant, playful, whimsical.
Lost Villager Heads
Earthenware heads, painted with terra sigillata and embellished with lustre, are my homage to the inhabitants of the lost villages of England.
Green Grow the Rushes O platters
Large earthenware platters, painted with coloured slips, depict mysterious images from the medieval song 'Green Grow the Rushes O'.
Tree of Life
The Tree of Life: the tree can be arranged in a variety of ways. Colourful birds, fruit, flowers and leaves are painted with underglaze colours and embellished with lustres to create a joyful and exuberant display.
Chicken teapots and tureens
These chicken-shaped teapots and tureens are slip cast, then painted with underglaze colours and embellished with enamels and lustres to create a whimsical and exuberant functional object.
