The initial inspiration for my work was architecture and structures; the way the lines meet, intersect and cross over. I also became interested in lines within organic structures and calligraphy; in fact it could be anything with lines in it!

Much of my work is a direct, freehand interpretation of these lines using paint straight from the bottle but on a much larger scale. From these large scale paintings, I select and cut up sections for translation into sandblasted or enamelled designs for glass. I particularly like the visual effects of deep sandblasting, which I am using frequently in my current work.
